FDL-2 Short Stack
thingiverse
This is the caliburn katana magwell mushed together with the FDL-2 magwell until I had something working. https://gfycat.com/AlienatedUniformIvorybackedwoodswallow https://gfycat.com/DependentVillainousFruitbat This is an early release, and currently has several issues/requirements. The mag release feels a bit awkward. No covers are available for the race way yet. To get the mag release to fit properly, you need to manually widen the holes. I used 1/8 and 9/64 bit for the magwell mag release holes, and the hole in the mag release itself, respectively. A long 6-32 screw was used to hold the magrelease in place. A hole was drilled near the top of the mag release to add a screw which holds a spring in place. However, no hole is currently available in the mag release model. No magwell top insert is included yet. That's an easy fix and I should have it done within a day or two. The fdl grip with the battery wires does not fit into the magwell due to the mag release design. This doesn't seem like a major structural issue, so I might just leave it as is. There are still screw holes for the old mag release design. But that's it. I've fired a katana mag or two through it flawlessly. Printing: Magwell: No supports were used, 20% infill, .2MM layer height PLA was printed. A brim was applied, probably wasn't necessary. Mag release: No supports were used, 90% infill, .2MM layer height PLA was printed.
