Faustina Minor
myminifactory
Faustina Minor, daughter of Antoninus Pius and Faustina Major, married to Emperor Marcus Aurelius between AD 161 and 180, is draped with a himation that wraps around her head, along with a thin chiton as her outer garment. The statue type used for her figure, known as the Orans type, was commonly employed in depictions of female members of the imperial family from the Augustan period onward, spanning from 27 BC to AD 14. Her attributes are attributed to a modern restoration effort.
