Faucet Aerator

Faucet Aerator

thingiverse

My new place had a clogged faucet aerator from day one. I carefully skirted that bathroom for weeks, avoiding it altogether. Extracting the aerator was out of the question – my pants would take a direct hit from a powerful spray. So, I took matters into my own hands and designed a custom 3D-printable aerator to tackle this problem. The innovative design fits snugly on the faucet, drawing in air around its edges to boost spray pressure while minimizing water flow. It's been a game-changer, but getting those tiny features to print cleanly proved to be a challenge. I had to break out a 1mm drill bit from my specialty tool stash to fine-tune the part and eliminate any imperfections. The aerator works by channeling the powerful water jets into an internal chamber, where they merge with a gentle stream of air drawn in through strategically placed venturii. The result is a harmonious blend of air and water that exits the faucet head with incredible force.
