I'm looking at the Fatshark foam faceplate and I've noticed a significant gap between my forehead and cheeks. The 3M industrial strength double-sided tape is what holds everything in place, with the smooth side facing me. On top of that, the foam Velcro tape is applied, followed by another layer of foam. So far, it's been working perfectly for me, but I suspect it might not be the best fit for everyone. If you're not happy with the size, you can always trim down the flat section to make it thinner, although it's impossible to add more material to the design. The 0.2mm layer height of the TPU is a notable aspect of this setup.
