Father and Daughter Hands
thingiverse
This project originated 10 years ago when my daughter was just 4. I used mold-making gel to create a cast of our hands, which I then filled with plaster o'paris for a decent result. Employing 123D Catch and Netfabb, I refined the file and Sculptris helped me remove major flaws from my daughter's wiggly handprints. In August 2013, I added a base and rod to make it a proper display item. Finally, printing at 0.2mm with 5% solidity on a Replicator 2, I assembled the hands, base, and pole using Krazy Glue for a lasting keepsake.
