This is a design for a housing that lets you attach the Fat Shark (ImmersionRC) 250mW transmitter directly to the Blade 350 QX quadcopter, along with a special battery to power the transmitter. The idea was to have a complete solution without any changes needed to the quadcopter body (no drilling, gluing, attaching velcros). However, designing everything so that it fits securely onto the curved legs of the landing gear proved to be the biggest challenge. The transmitter housing is designed specifically for the standard landing gear set BLH7815. Unfortunately, it won't fit properly on the tall landing gear set BLH7815TG. To get a good fit on this version, I would need to slightly redesign the bracket that attaches the housing to the landing gear, which I'm planning to do in the future. The box and cover for both housings will not require any modifications. The battery housing has been designed with E-flite's 450mah battery in mind (EFLB4502SJ30). However, you may be able to fit similar-sized batteries but not much bigger than that. My main gripe about the design is using screws (bolts) to attach the battery cover to the box. I do charge the battery directly from my housing by way of extension leads and have never encountered any issues with LIPO battery catching fire in spite of this common worry. The housing designs were created using TurboCAD Pro Platinum and 3D printed multiple times on a MakerBot Replicator 2.
