Fat Shark Battery Case (Li-ion 18650 mod)
thingiverse
I designed a simple enclosure for two Li-ion 18650 batteries, taking inspiration from the Fat shark goggle battery's design. The new enclosure will still fit snugly on your headband and stay securely in place. Due to the larger size of 18650 cells, this enclosure measures approximately 70 mm x 40 mm x 20 mm, making it slightly bigger than the OEM battery. Please note that its tight tolerance is due to my use of aluminum cell tabs instead of wires to connect the batteries. You might need to increase the size by a couple percent if you encounter difficulties inserting the wires. The enclosure has thin walls, but I intentionally designed them this way to allow for easy attachment of heat shrink (a 40 mm diameter works well) which adds some extra stability. If needed, you can glue or stick it down as desired. If you require design files in SolidWorks or any other assistance, feel free to let me know. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Mendel 90 Notes: I printed this at a 0.2 mm layer height, but you can use any settings that work for your printer.
