Fastwheel F0 Scooter additional handlebars for child
thingiverse
I've printed additional handlebars for my son's electric scooter so he can feel more secure holding onto them instead of grasping the steering rod. Those handlebars are designed for Fastwheel F0 scooters but may fit other models, with a rod diameter of 28.5mm and an anti-spinning pin on the back to prevent rotation. The handles themselves have a diameter of 25mm to fit comfortably in children's hands. The construction is very sturdy, I think I've over-engineered it slightly, but that's definitely good for safety. I printed them with PETG and they seem virtually indestructible =). You'll need 2x M8x70 bolts, 2x M6x30 bolts (I used 40mm in the photos, they're a bit longer than necessary) and 4 nuts to assemble everything. The handles are printed in separate parts which I glued together for added strength. The nuts are located inside the handlebars and the bolt goes from the inner part of the rod clamp, tightened with a socket wrench. The special pins on top and bottom of the handlebars prevent them from rotating when in place. The clamp itself is designed to stay securely attached to the rod and requires you to slide the parts together in order from top to bottom. UPDATE: 2017-09-15 I made some adjustments to enhance durability and added cutouts for fixing bolts.
