Our club takes pride in constructing our own turnouts, and to streamline this process, I engineered these ties to fit seamlessly into Fast Tracks templates for #5 fixtures. The design cleverly divides the turnout into two parts, accommodating a 200mm bed size, which significantly accelerates construction. We found it easier to align the turnouts while building them on our workbench before laying them out on the layout. When soldering track feeds or repairing points, I discovered that PETG filament stands up remarkably well to high heat. Pliobond cement proves to be an excellent choice for securing tracks to ties, and using 1/16 inch PC board ties, the bond between these and plastic ties holds very securely. Club members have also reported successful results with CA glue.
