Fast Temperature Tower
thingiverse
This is yet another temperature tower but one that prints fast, completing its full design in just around 10 minutes without support structures. This work is based on Tacblades' amazing tower (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2583799), and I've created a customizable version that lets anyone include details about the filament they're using. The left side displays the type of filament used, such as PLA, ABS, or PETg, while the top number on the right shows the initial temperature at the bottom, and the bottom one indicates the final temperature usually found at the top. The larger number on the far right represents the step size, like changing temperature every 2 degrees. One notable improvement is that in the original file, there are eight steps but only seven holes, causing a missing section. Furthermore, due to how PID works, 3D printers often struggle to stabilize within small layers, so this version prints at one temperature until it reaches the top of the hole and then lowers the temperature. Each block height is 10mm, with 8mm consisting of full semi-circular layers and 2mm being the height of the hole. Layer bonding is crucial as it ensures that the part becomes especially strong and helps prevent blobs on your nozzle. This file works best with a 0.4mm nozzle, and if slicing results in invisible walls, please ensure that your slicer can detect thin walls. I've also uploaded a python script to simplify temperature changes. The script was obtained from thingiverse but unfortunately, I don't remember the original author's name. If you're the creator, please send me a message. The syntax is "python gcode_temp_changer.py fast_temp_zaf.stl," and it will prompt you to include the temperatures. I believe this method is better than modifying slicer settings because the changes don't need to be reverted back for other files. Enjoy!
