Fast Mask

Fast Mask

thingiverse

The mask is designed to be simple and quick to create, ensuring a tight seal around the face that's essential for efficient aerosol filtration. Printing this mask takes only about 12 minutes on an Ultimaker 3 using PLA with custom settings. A combination of nose reinforcement and fabric flaps around the nose provides the necessary tight seal for effective filtration. Assembling the mask is fast, taking just a couple of minutes after printing, once it's been cut out. The design has been tested with various materials, including PLA, PP, Flannel, and Vacuum bag. Many other options will also work well. Note that while PLA works fine in this design, using PP creates a mask that can be autoclaved for sterilization and reuse. This simple mask was created by a lab technician at James Madison University (JMU) for the 3D printing community, but it does not reflect JMU's official views.
