Fast Bottle Warmer for Medela
thingiverse
Clip Medela baby bottles into this drill chuck attachment and rotate them rapidly within a bowl of scalding tap water to warm them quickly. Speeds up warming time by roughly 75% without causing the milk to froth. Print the part in ABS so that the scalding tap water doesn't soften it excessively. Following printing, carefully remove any support material flush with the shaft. If your Medela bottle caps have four distinct ridges on their sides, use the file marked "old". However, if your bottle caps are devoid of these ridges and possess a wavy skirt instead, use the file labeled "new" to smooth them out. Optionally, for additional structural strength, install an M3 by 30mm long button head screw and nut through the shaft using stainless materials. These parts have been optimized to work best with an extrusion width ranging from 0.35 to 0.40 mm and will fit comfortably within a 3/8" drill chuck. To use this attachment, first securely chuck your Medela baby bottles into your drill. Then immerse the bottle in scalding tap water and rotate it rapidly clockwise or forward in brief intervals lasting between five to ten seconds, punctuated by equal periods of stillness. The water as well as any milk or formula within should spin up quickly without producing excessive foam. To optimize warming speed further, replace the water periodically when it starts cooling down, or alternatively, maintain a gentle trickle of hot water into the bowl. Alternatively, if you only possess a slow electric screwdriver, rotate your bottle steadily on its side or at an angle beneath gently trickling scalding water or submerged in scalding tap water, producing no excessive foam.
