Farscape comm badge - Multi-Material
thingiverse
Two part Farscape com badge modeled in Fusion360 using one of my original designs from a decade ago. Printed on a Tenlog/Hictop 3DHero in color, the process is surprisingly straightforward. Simply place both parts on the bed at coordinates 0, 0, 0 and they will align perfectly. The trick to this design lies in letting the slicer handle the mesh creation for us. To do this, select 'insert' and set the shell to zero top and bottom layers. Choose an infill pattern you like; I used Cura's Gyroid infill at 20% in my photos. For added accuracy, insert a couple of aluminum pop-rivets into the holes. This small detail will make all the difference in the final product. If you'd like to have one printed but don't own a multi-material printer, head over to my store on Etsy: Starbase3d.etsy.com. This design is free for non-commercial personal use within our community. However, please refrain from selling these items as I am already doing so in my store.
