Unfortunately with the recent change in Thingiverse's policy on model ownership, I'm relocating my models to my own file services located at http://www.farvew.com, accessible through the link situated toward the bottom of the page. This antenna has undergone revision and is now outdated. For access to the latest version, please visit: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:798650 If you don't possess a CNC Mill or requisite materials/soldering skills, I'm manufacturing these antennas, alongside other designs, on my web page at http://farvew.com. I developed this design based upon a couple of popular online versions, and I particularly enjoy working with the RG402 coax due to its user-friendliness. Required Components: A one-sided PCB 1.5mm in thickness by 52mm in width (Templates are provided for the round reflector and octagonal designs) RG402 Coax cable 2mm copper cable (Common yellow home wiring available if you reside within the USA) Hot glue or CA Step-by-Step Instructions: Initiate the process by employing a winding former to shape your copper wire according to desire. Note that the winding former is slightly narrower than the desired diameter, and it will recover its shape after being wound. Cut out the reflector component. Place the reflector, ensuring to note the position of the lead hole for reference purposes. Connect the frame pieces and begin feeding the coil downward from the top surface. Remove approximately 1.5mm of the RG402 coax shielding/braid to expose the inner conductor. Join the shielding/braid of the RG402 coax with the copper reflector via soldering, utilizing enough material for added strength whenever possible. Attach the inner conductor to the copper wire, creating a 2mm gap between the wire and the reflector plate. Verify that no ground contact exists using a multimeter to ensure the antenna's functionality is secure and operational.
