A 2.5" hard drive needed to be attached directly to my Samsung TV in order to enable time shifting capabilities. This mount was initially designed for use with the Fantec DB-229U3-6G case, but its parameterized design allows it to be adapted for use with any other case. The USB version used by the case can be either USB2 or USB3, and this is determined by the value set for the usb_type parameter. With the top side of the case left open, the hard drive can easily be removed without having to take the mount out first.
