Fantasy Wargame Terrain - Fountains

These models were crafted thanks to the generosity of my patrons on Patreon. Anyone can join in at patreon.com/sablebadger for early access, free models, and support growing collections of tabletop models. Higher-tier supporters also get to participate in polls and suggest future projects. Experimenting with fantasy terrain ideas, I designed some fountains for tabletop wargames that really come alive when printed and painted. The "water ripples" turned out great, and the water spouts were a test run using Tinkercad, then edited in MeshMixer to give them natural texture. Starting from sections of a torus bundled together to approximate water, I moved it to Meshmixer to smooth it out with sculpting tools. Still learning these tools, but this should print better than my original idea. With the basic water fountain done, I mixed and matched ways to add some variety. Adding skulls gave it an EEEEVIL look, making it a necromancer blood fountain or something. Then I had to ruin it for the "ruins" look in Frostgrave terrain. I also included empty variants suggested by one of my patrons for people to try their own water effects. If you want to buy a print of this, check out FunBoardGames on Etsy, who's the only authorized vendor of these printed models. If they're not up yet, just shoot them an email with a request – they usually respond quickly.
