Fantasy Wargame Terrain - Fountains

These models were crafted thanks to the kindness of my patrons at Patreon. You can join in on the excitement by visiting patreon.com/sablebadger and gaining early access, free models, and contributing to a rapidly expanding collection of tabletop models. Those who contribute at higher tiers also get to participate in polls and suggest future projects. I've been experimenting with some new terrain ideas for Fantasy settings and designed several fountains for use in tabletop wargames. The "water ripples" printed well, painted beautifully, and brought the scene to life. The water spouts were an experiment that started in Tinkercad and continued in MeshMixer, where I used sculpting tools to give them a natural texture. Initially, they consisted of sections of a torus bundled together to approximate the look of water, which I then smoothed out with the tools in Meshmixer. Although I'm still learning how to use these tools, I think this approach will produce better results than my original idea. Once I had the basic water fountain designed, I remixed it to create several variations. Adding skulls gave it an EEEEVIL look, and voila! It became a necromancer's blood fountain or something. Then, I intentionally wrecked it to achieve the "ruins" look for some Frostgrave terrain. I also included a couple of "Empty" variants at the suggestion of one of my patrons, allowing others to try their own water effects.
