This is a fantasy viking house in 28mm scale that's not historically correct but looks better this way. Perfect for iron age or early medieval settings where the rohirrim from midgard can live in these houses as well. It's modular so you can decide how long you want the house to be, from a tiny cottage to a long barn by printing the number of middle segments you desire and gluing it all together. The roof is designed to be openable but can also be glued down. All parts except the front roof can print without support. The front roof comes in two variants with or without built-in support that I haven't actually tried since I don't have an FDM printer. Watch a video on how it works: https://youtu.be/eXs9N_6MMiQ Post-Printing Assembly and painting are recommended to be done after gluing all modules together. Place the front roof on the front house, glue the front decoration to the roof. Place the back roof on the back house, glue the back decoration to the roof. Paint or spray it matte black first. Dry brush the woodwork heavily with a dark brown color (burnt umber) next. Dry brush the stone fundament heavily with a dark gray after that. Finally, dry brush everything with a light warm gray. Note: dry brushing involves drying paint in a brush by rubbing it against a paper or something like it, so only the edges of the paint stick to the model and create a pattern and details. If you see paint strokes, your brush is still not dry enough. To improve coverage, let the brush contain more paint if needed. Custom Section Work in progress continues on this project. I need feedback from an FDM printer owner (I have an SLA) to know how the front roof fits on the front house and how the knot pattern works out on your printers, whether it's too small or not. The interior needs some serious love and attention as well. Different versions are being considered that make it more hollow to save material. Done in version 2 include: adding windows (there will be windows), a back roof with a chimney, fixing the stone fundament where it meets, making the timber on the front house match the mid and back houses, and slightly differentiating the three roof sections with the front being the worst. I'm also planning more segments to allow many more combinations that may eventually become a kickstarter project.
