Fantasy Fleet Miniatures
thingiverse
This set of models is directly inspired by my favorite tabletop wargame, Man o' War, a game that has sadly been out of print for many years. Those lucky enough to possess a copy of the rules can expect these 3D models to serve as passable stand-ins, as the real miniature lead is commanding astronomical prices on eBay. Curious hobbyists can learn more about the game by visiting The Sea of Claws website. Although they may lack detailed features, the models are suitable for printing using a 3D printer due to their design for older RepRap systems that could only manage minimal details. Given it's been some time since I revisited these files, I decided it was high time to share them with fellow makers and model enthusiasts. Each of these custom 3D designs was modeled from scratch as a nod to long discontinued commercial miniatures without infringing upon the intellectual property rights of their creators. They're purely unofficial, created in a manner that allows fans like me to imagine what might be possible if these tabletop wargames were to gain more attention and possibly lead to the original game being re-released into print. In this regard, it would bring immense joy to know that this collection sparks enough enthusiasm among the tabletop gaming community to warrant a return to print, giving us all a reason to indulge in our hobby with real miniatures.
