Update: I didn't make it in time, so this project will have to wait until next week. I did get the fuselage pieces and bottom pieces printed out and glued together. They fit really well! I used hot glue, and I won't do that again, it's too hot, and I deformed the foam in a few places. CA glue would work so much better next time. Live and learn! When i get home from Easter travels, I'll finish the airplane and post pics of it. This one will be a LW-PLA and foamboard hybrid, because I'd already started it that way. But I'm really excited that this actually worked, to print lightweight pieces of a foamie airplane. They are incredibly lightweight, I was surprised! I need help if anyone has time to help with this project! I'd like to have one printed and flyable for this Easter weekend (2023). I'm still working on the fuselage, if someone else wants to start on the wings, that would be awesome! Please tag your work, or message me. So far, Fuselage Parts are done. Remember, many parts have duplicates on each side of the airplane. The wing has to be mirrored, because the plans only have the LH wing. So I've taken the full sheet (Full Size) plans and printed them on my large-scale plotter just to make sure that my 3d-printed pieces match the plans. I'm not sure if it's possible to make all of the parts 3d-printed, but I think most of them could be, and if certain parts could be printed, it would make the airplane straighter, and hopefully it would have awesome flight characteristics. I use Simplify 3d for LW-PLA, but any slicer should work if you have it tuned right!
