Fang (fan) Duct for Tevo Tarantula Dual Extruder Stock
pinshape
Hi Makers, I'm thrilled to watch the filament deposit in action! I can spend hours observing the layer building up. With a Tarantula 3D printer featuring dual stock extruders, I needed a fan duct that could cool both hotends while giving me enough clearance to see the filament fusion and layer construction process. That's how the "Fang Duct" was born - no, there's no mistake with the "g"! After studying Tarantula anatomy pictures, the design resembles the term "Fang." You'll need two M3x16 screws for assembly. The fan duct is designed for a 40x40 fan. The dimension between the top surface of the X-carriage (acrylic part) and the bottom of the Fang Duct is 53mm. The full STL file for the assembly is attached. It works great for me, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too! Print Settings: Printer: Tevo Tarantula Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 25% Notes: Print at 0.1mm layer thickness. If printed at this resolution, no supports are needed if you have at least three perimeters, proper cooling, and a slow speed when reaching high-angle overhang areas. The print will be nice enough to get the job done. Print Settings (Alternative): Printer: Tevo Tarantula Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% Notes: If printed at 0.2mm layer thickness, supports are necessary. Make sure no supports are inside the duct by setting parameters to "from build platform only." This will ensure a successful print. I personally printed it with a 0.2mm layer up to 46mm and then switched to 0.1mm for the finish (I used two separate processes in Simplify3D, but you may be able to achieve this with other slicers as well).
