Fanduct for MK3 BMG E3D V6 - NO SUPPORT
thingiverse
I once designed a fan duct for the Bondtech BMG with E3D V6. On one hand, some things had bothered me about the original (which isn't bad at all!). On the other hand, I wanted to see if there was an improvement. Points that had bothered me: 1. Sometimes the fan would rattle because the bracket had swung. 2. A look at the first layer was limited. 3. I had a hard time getting to the nozzle to quickly remove plastic. 4. The frontal airflow mostly blew the whole part and probably caused warping at one or another pressure (maybe just my imagination!). So, I designed a new fan duct based on gut feeling without using simulation software. I didn't expect it to be better than Bondtech's original fan duct, but I was surprised. Actually, I didn't want to share it because it was just a gimmick, but with the result, it would be a shame not to share it. I hope it works for others too. The geometry is filigree, and I recommend a layer height of 0.1 mm if the printing material (filament) allows it. I took 3 outer lines, 30% gyroid infill, 4 floors, and 6 blankets. The pictures of the overhang test are included; the test was done with the same G-code: 2 outline lines, 0% infill, 2 floors, 0 blanket, filament SUNLU PLA+, 230°C/70°C. Edit 06/23/2020: - I was able to simulate it using SimScale, and I attached pictures. Edit: June 27, 2020 Thanks to the simulation software, I created an improved version (V2), but a support geometry must also be printed; it's already included in the STL. Please note that the STL into objects (VERY IMPORTANT OBJECTS!!!) separate into parts is wrong; it must be separated in the slicer (Slic3r). Then, the supports for the opening are not connected and can then be easily removed. The bracket must also be reprinted. Have fun printing.
