Fancy BIC Pen
thingiverse
IMPORTANT: THIS PRINT REQUIRES A 0.2MM NOZZLE This is a pen that I designed that uses regular bic pen ink tubes. It is difficult to print pens as you either have to print them horizontally which leaves a flat spot that I think doesn't look that great, or you have to print them vertically which presents cooling and stability issues. There is also the issue of strength as a 3d printed pen could easily break if printed vertically. This pen is my take on the issue. It uses a horizontally printed core to provide strength as well as a base for which different tips, grips and cylinders can be screwed on. The cap is also optimized for printability and strength. You may find it hard to remove the cap once it's clipped on but don't worry, you just need to push it upwards from the bottom with your thumb. Of course it's not perfect and that is why I labelled it as a work in progress. I'm not happy with the large tip because it makes the pen require a greater inclination when writing. The cap could also be prettier than what it is currently. Anyways I just wanted to share this design and I hope that you like it! P.S. I have included a .3mf and .stl for the grip because the file is pretty large. I couldn't figure out how to make it smaller :(
