I wanted a decorative element, prominently displayed as you read, to stand out. I discovered intricate filigree details within an old letter set that I incorporated into my design by cleverly excising them from the main piece. Given the potential fragility of the cut-through version, I created two alternative designs - one with a raised embossed pattern and another with a recessed debossed effect. Edit: Thingiverse appears to be having issues rendering .stl files. A showcases the original design with the cutting through its entire thickness. B features the embossed design seen in the accompanying photograph. C displays the debossed design, set back into the surface.
