Fanatec Wheel Stand with Quick Release Mount
thingiverse
I wanted a place where I could stash my spare Fanatec wheel without leaning it against or mounting it on a wall. So I created a stand similar to those headphone stands found online. To make this stand, I used the Fanatec wall mount adapter by blazze11 (check out the remix section) and attached it to a self-made stand designed in Fusion 360. Since I wasn't sure how sturdy the final result would be in PLA, I made it thick and used 20% infill. The main pillar of the stand is tilted back so the wheel's center of gravity leans slightly towards the back, making the whole thing less front-heavy and less likely to tip over. Overall, the end result seems fine, but feel free to modify it - please post your changes as a remix! I'm curious about your ideas too! Printing with my Anycubic Mega-S, I had to use almost the entire build volume, so there's no room for brim or skirt. Adjust your slicer settings accordingly or scale down the stand using the 3mf file if you need to. Don't forget to move the quick release mount to a suitable position if you modify the stand. I designed the stand this way so scaling it in just one direction won't be too noticeable. STL: One object, print as is if you don't need to adjust the size 3MF: Multiple objects, scale down the stand if needed, move the quick release mount to its new position and save as a single object or merge before printing Despite its size, the print took only about 7 hours. The hole at the back is for storing the allen wrench / hex key required for the CSL Elite wheel. I should have made a second hole for the screw too, but it tends to slip out of the semi-quick release mechanism after everything's done...
