Fanatec F1 paddle shifters

Fanatec F1 paddle shifters

I designed quick and dirty paddle shifters for Fanatec's older F1 "black" wheel rim. It was a first project of its kind, and it turned out to be relatively straightforward. At first, I tried printing them in resin, but as you might expect, they cracked under the pressure. Don't even get me started on using resin; that was a mistake. The paddle shifters lasted for one day's worth of practice sessions, about three to four hours total. But when I used them again the next day, disaster struck - just five minutes in, they snapped into two pieces. Maybe other types of plastics will work out better. I'm thinking of trying steel from Shapeways next time around.
