Fanatec CSL Elite Keyboard Holder
thingiverse
This is a very niche thing, but maybe it helps someone out there. This thing is only interesting for you, if: you have a Fanatec CSL Elite Wheel Base you only race in VR or have a very strange monitor mounting position have a printer with at least 271 x 151 x 189mm build volume. That's all applicable? - Great! Racing in VR only I decided I wanted my keyboard in an accessible and most importantly constant place. For one thing I wanted a few extra buttons for car setup on the fly, on the other hand I wanted to participate in votes e.g. to kick players who don't know what blue flags mean ;-) This is the result of these wishes. The curve of the steering wheel top is quite hard to model, so I tried to approximate a shape where at least some of the keyboard holder will make solid contact with the surface so the part is not under constant stress at the weakest point. I added some padding in such a way that only the padding ever makes contact to avoid scratches. Additionally I added some Tesa Power strips for added stability and secured the keyboard's cable with a zip tie through the „hawk's eye“. I printed it in PLA with the intention of checking the dimensions and whether it is fit for purpose in general and then to print it again in PETG, but so far even the PLA is holding up just fine. Have fun and happy racing!
