Fan2Filter - connect a fan to a filter
thingiverse
#Overview This is the first beta-shot of a fully customisable generic part, which connects a round fan to a square-shaped filter-cartridge. The structure is calculated creating a smooth transition from circle to square. (sorry OpenSCAD, the hull-function doesn't offer the solution i was looking for). Inside there are ribs which divide the airflow into equal parts: each section has the same area. ##Base The bottom of the part connects to a fan ##Slopes Two thin walls which start as a circle on the bottom and become a square on the top. ##Ribs i don't know whether these are useful, but they are great: Choose the number of ribs, the bottom to the fan is divided equally ##filter ##Cap #Parameters which can be adaptet to your needs: ##dimensions related to the 3d-printer: * wall-thickness: check your slicer and choose a thickness which results in 2 or 4 extruded lines * plate thickness * max overlap angle: depending on your printer, material and settings * tollerance between parts ##dimensions related to the filter-cartrige: * width * length * height * overlap (unusable for airflow) ##dimensions related to the fan: * width, e.g. 120mm or 40mm * screw distance of the 4 screws which connect fan and this thing * airflow hole diameter * fan motor diameter (unusable space for airflow in the center of the fan) * screw hole diameter * nut height * nut width across flat #todo * cleanup code * find a better solution to attach the cap to the body
