Fan speed testing Jig (And testing results)
prusaprinters
<p>Very simple fan wind tunnel to test the fans wind speed with an General DAF3008 Anemometer. </p><p>I understand this might not work for everyone (many different Anemometers out there). So i attached a step file if anyone wants to change it. </p><p>I don't expect many people to print this, but i decided to at least share my results incase it would be useful to anyone.</p><p>You should <strong>not </strong>need supports for the file. Definitely print it with a brim and at the orientation below. The holes in the model are 3mm, to fasten the fan just use some M3 bolts and they will tap their way through:</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:63.8%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/69370/rich_content/3e35fccb-83dc-4270-9556-35faeb08a48a/image.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22f5610f6d-fc9c-400a-ad0b-eef079727052%22%2C%22w%22%3A859%2C%22h%22%3A612%7D"></figure><p>Tests Results:</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:82.23%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/69370/rich_content/e135e191-4d20-4571-b175-33c586f800f9/tests.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%222ef621ce-db20-40da-a5d5-ce74a8f60a10%22%2C%22w%22%3A874%2C%22h%22%3A417%7D"></figure><figure class="table"><table><thead><tr><th><strong>Fan</strong></th><th><strong>Voltage Rated</strong></th><th><strong>Voltage used for test</strong></th><th><strong>Avg Speed (m/s)</strong></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Ender 3 Stock Fan (Hotend/Mainboard)</p><p>40mm x 10mm</p></td><td>24V</td><td>24V</td><td>4.8</td></tr><tr><td>Noctua fan 40mm x 10mm</td><td>12V</td><td>12V</td><td>3.3</td></tr><tr><td>Noctua fan 40mm x 10mm</td><td>12V</td><td>14V</td><td>3.9</td></tr><tr><td>Noctua fan 40mm x 20mm</td><td>12V</td><td>12V</td><td>4.0</td></tr><tr><td>Noctua fan 40mm x 20mm</td><td>12V</td><td>14V</td><td>4.7</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>
