Fan spacers for Chimeric Printrbot Simple Metal
thingiverse
These are spacers used to mount fan shrouds for the Chimeric Printrbot Simple Metal upgrade. They were adapted from Cyberchip and Eric Y's excellent designs specifically for this purpose. The fan shrouds themselves can be found here. I placed a 5mm half spacer directly between the fan shroud and the thick metal spacer attached to the standard simple metal fan mounting site, which is where the Alu drive was positioned. For the Titan extruder, I used a 2mm cutout spacer placed between the fan and the shroud at the level of the metal attachment site. Both spacers are shown in photos above. I have included half and cutout spacers as alternatives to the ones I used, as your mileage may vary. If you need a 1mm cutout spacer, go to Eric Y's design for it. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 25% is fine Notes: I used 4 layers for all sides. My spacers were made with Bridge Nylon, but ABS or anything else that can tolerate being near a hot end will do. To make the half spacer fit, you'll need to file or sand down the edges facing the shroud.
