Originally purchased the mk1 machine and later upgraded it with the mk2 upgrade kit, which included a new fan that came with it. However, the mount was designed to point the fan at the heater block rather than the print. To improve airflow and prevent overheating, the cooling outlet holes are strategically placed in varying sizes. The holes allow for a slight restriction where the fan is pointing, while promoting an open flow on the opposite side. This ensures even air circulation throughout the system. The mount allows the fan to be easily installed at the front of the machine, using bolts that hold the extruder in place. To accommodate this setup, the heater block must be reversed so that the heater core faces towards the rear instead of the front. This design is optimized for printing at 0.2mm layers with a 0.4mm nozzle. When using Cura, you can utilize tree supports without them touching the build plate. However, if internal supports are added, use Cura's Support blocking tool to cover the lower ring and maintain clear airflow.
