Every 40mm fan Ive lost is due to a misprint which resulted in spaghetti filament going into the fan and messing it up. Once your fan is compromised, it can lead to phantom issues with heat creep and clogs. This allows free flow to a 40mm fan but stops any filament from entering from the bottom. Important, Mount the fan with louvers slanting in a way that filament strands pushing from the bottom are blocked. Pop this on and stop a large part of potential damage from failed prints. You may need slightly longer screws, 2 mm width is added
