You can prevent using longer screws by taking one of two approaches. Lower the position of this part on the slicer bed, thereby reducing its thickness, or you can keep your existing fan body screws in place and carefully apply a small amount of super glue to secure it atop the fan. The allen wrench can then be used to tighten these screws and firmly hold the fan in place.
