Remixed to fit my precise PBSM with E3D hotend fully inserted into place. To achieve this, I simply cut a small notch into the top fin of the heatsink, also serving as a fan duct for the heatsink. A solid fit is now completely seated in the extruder assembly. This setup is far superior to the meager 2mm of insertion gained by using a 3D printed insert. The shorter hotend led me to relocate the heated bed on top of the mounting plates, where it typically resides underneath. By doing so, I eliminated concerns about any additions to the hotend colliding with the printer's base - the build plate is now almost flush with the top of the base. This allowed the heat block to be oriented with its bulk positioned at the rear and out of the way, freeing up space and eliminating the need for turbulent cutouts in fan shrouds. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I added locknuts for manual bed leveling. Since I had already replaced the proximity sensor with a microswitch on the back, relocating it was probably a necessary modification given the limited space between the proximity sensor mount and the end of the nozzle. With a perfectly level bed finally in place, there's no longer any wasted time spent on shoddy calibration at the start of every print - it's truly the best setup I've ever had!
