fan shroud for direct drive ender 3
thingiverse
I remixed the original model on Thingiverse: 2879538. To avoid stepper interference, I relocated the top fan mount to the front. This adjustment also allowed me to reduce the top height by 2mm for added clearance. The corner grip was removed since I'm using an aftermarket X-axis carriage and it no longer fits. The version of the file with "(3)" has a few notable changes: it includes a BL Touch mount, additional support structures, repositioned holes, and a modified carriage clip. I strongly advise against printing this version for a standard Ender 3. For stock models, please refer to Thingiverse: 3562807. Important note: If you're planning to print with high-temperature materials like PLA, don't use the original PLA shroud. The heat from the build plate can warp the bottom of the shroud and lead to print failures. I experienced this issue when trying to print TPU, nylon, and ABS using a PLA shroud. While it hasn't caused any failures directly, the gap between the plate and shroud continued to decrease, so I replaced it with a new one.
