Fan Shroud / Filter Mount / Silencer

The 3D printer's built-in fan is quite loud straight out of the box. Initially, I had some makeshift filter pads taped on, but they didn't stick very well. So here's a solution. This customisable silencer design fits any fan, so it's not limited to the printer's built-in fan. The filter doubles as a silencer, bringing down the fan noise roughly to the printing noise level. This depends on the choice of filter pad used. To install this design, print one per fan, remove the fan mounting screws, place the base flush with the printer, and put the screws back in. Most of the dirt in the filter comes from outside the printer, as I don't vacuum that regularly. The level of filtering obviously depends on the size and type of filter chosen. No guarantees are provided for using this design, especially considering a study that found nanoparticles emitted from 3D printers could pose a risk: https://spectrum.ieee.org/nanoclast/semiconductors/nanotechnology/nanoparticles-emitted-from-3d-printers-could-pose-a-risk
