Fan Pull
cults3d
I thought I had an original solution in mind, but it turns out others faced the same problem as me. Waking up in the middle of the night to flip on the fan only to accidentally flood the bedroom with light was a common challenge.\n\nThis is my take on how to address it. In my case, my ceiling fans feature standard pull-chains with a pull-chain coupling clasp at the end that perfectly fits this design. This model was created specifically for this purpose. Earlier versions of this model had a wider hole at the bottom, but I decided to make this a screw cap instead, which makes it more enjoyable. The screw cap is not strictly necessary, but it looks much nicer with it.\n\nI printed this on my Prusa i3 MK3S @ 0.1mm layer height in PLA and the screw cap fits perfectly and snugly enough that I don't worry about it coming loose on its own.\n\nIt does require supports, but the separate cap helps to reduce their height a little bit.\n\nI've included the Fusion 360 file for reference. Be aware that this is only my second time using it.
