2018/12/20 I added a 4020 cooling fan version as per makers' request, making this design more versatile. The STL files beginning with "du" feature one heat sink cooling fan and two filament cooling blowers. The STL files labeled as "crx" are specifically designed for CR-X. The STL files ending with "mo" include add-on mounting holes. 2018/12/04 A well-designed fan mount, wind duct, and add-on provision for multiple 3D printer hot ends make this a comprehensive design. A good design should meet the following criteria: 1. Efficient cooling: § The hot end cooling duct is conformed to match the fan blade circle with the heat sink rectangle, ensuring 100% airflow through the heat sink. § The filament cooling fan shares part of the duct wall with the hot end cooling duct, minimizing pressure loss by shortening the distance between the fan and the duct outlet. § Both filament cooling blowers point directly at the hot end tip from both sides. § The filament cooling fan is placed high to capture cooler air above, while the hot end cooling fan is positioned as high as possible with an optional hot air defender. 2. Easy to print: § This design prioritizes ease of printing, requiring only 4mm-high support during printing. § Bridging distances are minimized to prevent failed prints, making it difficult to fail when printing these parts. § The two hooves in front of the duct ends enhance bed adhesion and can be cut off after completion; leaving them on or removing them won't affect installation. 3. Lightweight, compact, and sturdy: § All four models weigh less than 20 grams. § Conformal duct design significantly reduces dimensions without compromising performance. § The compact design results in a sturdy structure with 4mm-thick screw holes. 4. Easy to install: § Two screws are required for locking the hot end, which has 4mm-thick holes that need longer screws. § For all fans, simply insert them into their designated positions. 5. Fits various machines and requirements: § This design focuses on hot end compatibility rather than machine-specific design; as long as the two screw holes of the hot end are between 14mm to 16mm apart, it can be installed. § Four different models cater to diverse needs: 1 + 1, 1 + 2, 1 + 2 + 2, and 1 + 2 with add-on provision mounting holes. 6. Excellent visibility of the print tip: § This design provides clear visibility of the print tip for easy monitoring. 7.
