Per user request, I revised my prior design of fan mount, wind duct from a 4010 cooling fan to a 4020 cooling fan. The previous model can be viewed at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3256666 which features designs for: 1. A 4010 cooling fan, with one 4010 blower 2. A 4010 cooling fan and one 4010 blower, along with two sets of add-on mounting holes 3. Two 4010 blowers 4. A 4010 cooling fan, two 4010 blowers, and two sets of add-on mounting holes For the CR-X model: 1. A 4010 cooling fan and two 4010 blowers 2. A 4010 cooling fan, two 4010 blowers, and two sets of add-on mounting holes Now, all designs incorporate a 4020 cooling fan mount. As the CR-X boasts a unique rounded hot end design, I've established separate designs for 4010 and 4020 fan mounts and wind ducts. A well-designed fan mount combined with an effective wind duct and additional provisions for various 3D printer hot ends is essential. An excellent design should: Efficiently cool the hot end by: - Aligning the hot end cooling duct with the fan blade circle to ensure 100% airflow passes through the heat sink. - Integrating the filament cooling fan into the duct wall, minimizing air pressure loss. - Directing the filament cooling duct towards the hot end tip from both sides. - Positioning the filament cooling fan at a high point to maximize cool air intake. - Locating the hot end cooling fan as high as possible with an optional hot air defender. Easy to print: - The design prioritizes simplicity, requiring minimal support during printing and only 4mm-high supports. - Bridging is minimized, making it difficult to fail prints. - Two small hooves at duct ends ensure better adhesion to the print bed; simply cut them off after printing. Lightweight, compact, and sturdy: - All four designs weigh less than 20 grams. - Conformal duct design significantly reduces overall dimensions without compromising performance. - The compact structure provides stability due to its thickness. Easy installation: - No screws are required except for two that secure the hot end (using 4mm-thick screws). - Fans can be easily inserted into their designated positions. Versatile and adaptable: - The design focuses on hot end compatibility rather than specific machine requirements. - Two screw holes of any hot end between 14mm to 16mm can accommodate this design. - Four models cater to diverse needs: 1. (h.e. cooling fan) + 1(flm cooling fan) 2. 1 + 1 + 2(add on provision mounting holes) 3. 1 + 2 4. 1 + 2 + 2 Excellent visibility: A clear view of the print tip is maintained throughout printing. Fun and engaging: - Designing and making it can be a fun aspect of 3D printing, allowing users to create add-on shafts and see their creations come to life.
