Fan header cover
thingiverse
This dummy connector was designed specifically for covering pins on motherboard fan headers.\nI provided STLs for both 3-pin and 4-pin versions. The 4-pin version can be used on 3-pin headers but will hang off to one side, as shown in the picture.\nEDITED 2016-12-28: A newer version was added.\nThe pin pockets were separated to greatly reduce the risk of shorting out pins. I highly recommend using the latest version.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter:\n FlashForge Creator Pro (2016)\n \n Rafts:\n No\n \n Supports:\n No\n \n Resolution:\n .2mm\n \n Infill:\n 30%\n \n Notes:\n ABS filament was used for printing, but any non-conductive material that can handle nearby heat sources without deforming should work.\nA prompt may appear asking about auto-scaling when slicing the 3-pin version in Simplify 3d. Select "no" - the mesh file is already in millimeter format.\nHow I Designed This\nDesigned in FreeCad 0.16\nThe size of this model is determined solely by the padding on the base plate sketch. Set the padding length to 8mm for the 3-pin version and 10.6mm for the 4-pin version.\nThe latest version was created by fusing the original model with primitive cubes to separate pins. I added these when realizing that the height of the cover makes it easy to bend pins and cause a short - separating them should help prevent this (use at your own risk).
