Fan for Vive wireless
thingiverse
Adds a fan and PWM fan speed controller to the Vive wireless adapter. I took inspiration from several projects, but the actual attachment grips are from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3141858 (Vive Wireless Adapter Modular Battery Bracket). I used a Noctua 40x10 5v PWM fan (Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXS86G7), and a Noctua PWM fan speed controller (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072M2HKSN). The front clip holds the speed controller. The clip is slightly (0.5mm?) wider than the fan controller, and I used two strips of electrical tape on the inside of the clip to create a friction fit with the controller. Since the controller is extremely lightweight and the cables tend to keep the controller in place, this worked well enough. I included the fan speed controller because I was concerned about sound. I needn't have worried. The Noctua fan is very quiet at full speed. Turning it down slightly renders it essentially silent, but really I couldn't hear the fan at full speed with the headset on. I did shorten both cables, cutting them and installing new fan connectors. The existing cables were long enough to be awkward.
