UPDATE: I discovered that V4 experiences a slight bending issue when printing the fan part, causing the fan duct to be non-parallel to the print plane. This results in contact between the fan and the printed item, leading to a mess! So, you now have V5 and V6. V5 addresses this issue by introducing a slight angle on the fixing ledge, which has been lengthened for added stability. In V6, I've centered the hole on the extruder, further enhancing its performance. This is my remix of a remix :) I'm thrilled to have combined the innovative idea from Ioqatix Zonestar P802Q Fan Duct with the original fan duct from Zonestar. To achieve this, I modified Ioqatix's code to generate a dynamic number of fan outlets, adjusting their direction to blow downstream instead of center or upstream. This change was necessary for two reasons: Firstly, the original holes were too small, causing excessive pressure and blocking airflow (the outlet surface ratio in Ioqatix's design was 80:1, whereas I've maintained the original 10:1 ratio). Secondly, blowing cold air towards the hotend could lower its temperature, disrupting filament flow; instead, it should be directed towards the build piece to accelerate cooling. Here is the revised design: Ioqatix, I've reworked your OpenSCAD scripts to make them fully parametric for blade count and fixed a few points where parameters were not used. Note that after creating the model in OpenSCAD, you'll need to export it as an STL file and then modify the interior to seal the gap between the first blade and fan duct. I've encountered two errors in the OpenSCAD output (visible upon inspection), which I was unable to resolve; Tinkercad helped me address this issue. Also, merging with the original fan duct piece provides a strong bond without moving parts. Unfortunately, flow simulation eluded me, but I'm pleased to report that the design works well so far – Ioqatix might want to run some simulations for further optimization! The model includes support for 5cm of an 8mm LED strip.
