Fan Duct, MendelMax 2.0
thingiverse
To enhance the print quality on my MendelMax 2.0 printer, I observed that a Replicator 2's fan significantly improves results. Initially, I used two angled fans with mounts (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:139952). Later, I developed a thicker fan duct screwing onto the carriage for better airflow. The Makers Tool Works fan is powerful but lacks pressurization; thus, larger vents ensure more efficient cooling on parts. This upgrade led to improved bridging and reduced overhang sag. Comparative photos showcased significant differences in print quality with and without the fan duct, both printed from identical g-code files.
