Fan Duct for Geeetech Acrylic Prusa I3 X
thingiverse
I designed a custom fan duct for my DIY printer Geeetech Prusa I3 X Acrylic because none of the existing designs fit my 2017 model. Despite Geeetech's tendency to update their printers without changing the model number, I measured my nozzle's distance from the extruder carriage and nozzel center to ensure accuracy. The measurements are approximately 36mm and 33mm respectively. To assemble this fan duct, simply print its three parts and glue them together using ABS for safety due to its proximity to hot printer components. My design and split-print approach were inspired by Luca Benedetto's failed attempt at creating a fan duct for his Prusa I3. Unfortunately, it did not fit his printer either. I use the Amazon product B06XZR6VQV, an adjustable fan with various speed settings, which requires some extra wiring to connect to my board due to its wrong connector type. To make this connection possible, I purchased a set of cables from Amazon (B01DU9OY40) and used the male connector from another set (B01DU9P21O) to complete the circuit.
