Fan Duct for Bear Extruder

Fan Duct for Bear Extruder

thingiverse

This is a fan duct replacement designed specifically for the Bear Extruder 0.7.0-beta MK2.5S MK3S, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3716110. With blower fans - in this case, part cooling fans - the majority of air flow goes to the left side when viewing the printer from the front. This replacement aims to balance air flow evenly across left, right, and middle sections through the air duct. In the images shown from left to right: The first one printed was made from white PETG for testing purposes. Bridging came out fairly well in this test print. Next, I installed it in my printer and used it to print another version in ABS. The bridging came out significantly better than the one printed in PETG. After removing the PETG-printed air duct, noticeable warping was observed - which is expected due to its lower melting temperature. This highlights why printing the air duct in ABS or ASA is recommended, as they have higher melting temperatures. I opted for PETG for testing purposes only. When printing this replacement, it's essential not to use supports. They won't come off cleanly and aren't necessary anyway. Instead, ensure your bridging fan speed is properly set for optimal results.
