This bracket enables a 40mm fan to be mounted above the heat sink of an LSI 9207-8i SAS HBA, which can be purchased on Amazon as B0085FT2JC or on Broadcom's website at broadcom.com/products/storage/host-bus-adapters/sas-9207-8i. The bracket does not require removal of the stock pins that hold the heat sink in place, thereby preserving the card's original configuration. Although some standard 40mm fans may fit snugly into this bracket, it was specifically designed for a Noctua NF A4x10 fan, which can be bought on Amazon as PWM or Non-PWM model B07DXRNYNX or B009NQLT0M respectively. Using a cooling fan effectively lowers the temperature of the HBA in cases with subpar airflow, such as when used in a desktop chassis without server-caliber ventilation.
