Take a switch, an LED, and a motor with a 2 mm-diameter shaft. Add a 9-volt battery with its adapter to the mix. Assemble these parts, set an helix on the motor's axis, and you've got yourself a portable fan! Check out the picture of my wooden prototype - it's a real doozy! The motor I'm using comes from a PS2 controller vibrator, which makes for a pretty sweet DIY find.
