The fan on the Ormerod hot end produces a substantial amount of backwash. A modified design by kwikius (Andy) is the basis for this backwash eliminator. It was altered to be slim enough for easy insertion behind the Duet enclosure on the Ormerod 1. Holding it in place are two fifty-millimeter countersunk screws, instead of the original clips used previously. Installation options exist; users may either employ only these two screws (replacing the two that secured the fan, heatsink block, heat sink and plastic parts) or drill an additional pair of holes into the heatsink for increased support with a total of four screws, accompanied by nyloc nuts at the tips of the uppermost 2.
