Fan adaptor and filter box for fume extrator
thingiverse
I wanted to minimize plastic use for the fan box and enhance air flow, so I reworked a 120mm modular setup for the fan and filter. Additionally, I was unclear about how screws should be attached in the original design, so I included an access hole from within the adaptor for better understanding. Those components can be stacked as needed, either pushed or pulled to maximize air flow. The filter is housed in a drawer that slides out easily for quick replacement. A stator is visible on the picture, which I use to boost fan static pressure. I added LED lighting along the hood's edge, as workspace illumination is often inadequate; this feature has been quite helpful. Further refinements would be to integrate cable management directly and perhaps install a remote switch on the fume hood to control the extractor.
