False barley (grass family) pollen
sketchfab
Pollen from false barley (Hordeum murinum) belongs to the Poaceae family - its appearance closely resembles pollen from giant bamboos and common lawn grass. Grass pollen begins as a rough sphere but often undergoes a transformation, becoming folded or crumpled over time. According to Halbritter's description in PalDat (2016), Hordeum murinum pollen features medium-sized heteropolar monads with varying shapes - spheroidal or irregular, circular or irregular in polar view, marked by ulcers and monoporate with an annulus. The exine exhibits areolate, microechinate, and perforate characteristics. This model is part of the 3D Pollen Project.
